Blair

They say “if you love something, let it go. If it comes back, it's yours.” We usually don’t apply this to adoption, but for one star-crossed story, the love came full circle.

Last month we told you about Miss Independent, Blair, and her 18-month solo journey after she got away from her foster family. She spent 535 days evading humane traps, cameras, and attempts at being caught before finally being recovered. It truly took a village to track her down and bring her home.

Well - plot twist! While Blair spent the next month in a foster home learning to be loved again, her forever home and future adopters spent that same month thinking about how much they loved her and couldn’t live without her. As fate would have it, that future adopter was one of the very people who helped us recover Blair on the 535th night.

This one was written in the stars. Who knew that Blair’s extended, impromptu adventure would lead to the greatest love story of her life and her new forever home. We are so grateful for the support of our village in helping rescue, foster, teach, love - and sometimes even catch - the pups in our care. We are so grateful that one of our very own village members met her match in sweet, independent, Blair. The rest, they say, is history.
