Back to School!

Road Trip Destination: West Chester University

We head back to school this month at West Chester University with Remy (FKA Peter), who reminds us that no matter how much we think we know, there is always more to learn.  Peter was part of a larger litter that came to TLC.  He was the smallest in a litter of 8.

While Peter may have appeared like your typical puppy, he was just a little different. He was born with a neurological abnormality that mildly affected his balance and slightly impaired his vision. In the dark, he would be more apprehensive and careful to navigate his surroundings.

Upon meeting Peter, you would be captivated by his sweet and pleading eyes, and then he would seal the deal with his signature head tilt. He could best be compared to a new kid on his first day of school. He would  approach new situations ever so apprehensively and would sit on the sidelines at recess and play it cool for a while, but once he realized there was fun to be had and friends to make, he never looked back. He was friendly and sweet, loved to prance and play with other dogs, and was always down for an adventure!

Peter was special, and he had so much love to give his future family. He needed a patient and caring home that would love him unconditionally and continue to care for his special needs.

Peter found the family that was perfect for him.  They knew about his disability and loved him for it.  They knew their other dog would help Peter navigate a world full of unknowns and make the world a little less scary. This year, Peter’s family added another TLC pup to their pack.  So now, Peter gets to be the big brother!

Our most recent update from Peter, now Remy’s family:

“Remy is doing great! With the help of a low dose medication, Remy is able to live his best life. He enjoys running in the yard, playing with his canine siblings, and attending doggy daycare. Remy is thriving and he brings so much love and joy to our family.”
