Join us for our upcoming Painting with a Twist fundraiser to support the medical needs of a very special pup, Russell. Just eight months old, Russell and his sister Barbie were found homeless and starving in rural Mississippi. United in their struggle, they were discovered clinging to each other, the embodiment of canine resilience.
On arrival at TLC, it was evident that Russell was in pain. We immediately arranged for a veterinary examination, initially fearing a broken bone. Thankfully, the X-rays came back clear, and after a regimen of pain medication and joint supplements, Russell's condition improved daily. However, Russell's unique behaviors led us to seek a second opinion, resulting in the discovery of a bilateral cranial cruciate ligament - a torn ligament in each of his hind legs.
Given Russell's young age and specific condition, surgery is inevitable, but the options are varied. Thus, we're in the process of seeking further veterinary consultation to ensure the best possible outcome for Russell. Your participation in the Painting with a Twist fundraiser can help us provide the essential care he needs. Join us and paint with a purpose for Russell's brighter future.
