Meet Penny, formerly known as Clarice, an enchanting 8-year-old lab mix with a heart of gold and a spirit that shines bright despite years of waiting. Her journey began in a shelter in Mississippi, where she spent five long years before finding her way north to TLC.
Amidst the shuffle of changing shelters and names, Penny’s essence remained unchanged - forging a path of quiet strength and unspoken longing.

Penny’s gentle curiosity and the wisdom of her years defined her. Though she was a bit older, she approached life with the eagerness of a young pup, finding joy in even the smallest moments. From discovering her reflection in a mirror to mastering stairs and crate training, she greeted each new experience with a resilient heart. Sweet and calm, Penny was a loyal companion who adored people of all ages, and she got along with other dogs and cats too.
With a wagging tail and eyes full of hope, Penny is not just a dog—she is a living testament to the power of love, patience, and second chances.
