Happy New Year!
Feature Dog: Peter Parker
“With great power, there must also come great responsibility.”
Peter Parker has been driven by this sentiment since 1962. We see it as a responsibility we have to our pets. To keep them safe. To keep them loved. To give them their best life. To dogs, we are their heroes. To us, they are ours.
Every hero has an origin story and Peter Parker’s has been told over and over again. But our Peter Parker has one you’re probably not familiar with. Peter first came to us in February 2021, at almost 3 years old, and found what he thought would be his forever home that July. Peter was hopeful about his new family, but they grew unable to care for him and did not fulfill the promise they made him.
In the summer of 2022, Peter Parker tried his hand at playing Spider-Dog in New York City after his original adopter dumped him there. After his short stint as a crime fighter, he was rescued once again and taken to a vet where he was scanned for a microchip, leading the rescuers back to TLC. He enjoyed his life back in a foster home and retired from his Spider-Dog career. Peter Parker wanted nothing more than to live out his days in a normal life.
Peter Parker hasn’t let his dire past get him down. He remains a smart, happy-go-lucky pup who gets along with everyone. He lives up to his namesake.
“Peter is energetic, loyal, trainable, and sociable with the other foster dogs. He’s affectionate and obviously handsome.”
“…a dog that understands when his human needs comforting, so he’ll rest his head on their lap until they feel better. But a dog who doesn’t intrude; who will sit quietly at their feet until they ask for affection.”
We’re SO excited to share that Peter Parker found his forever home in January 2023. Our featured pup for January gets to begin his next adventure: spending the rest of his life with his new family. It was meant to be!
