August 2023

August 1 is DOGust the 1st - the international birthday for shelter dogs!

Featured Dog: Jaxon

Huskies truly are a breed like no other.

Every husky owner knows that their dog has a devious side. Each and every one is a Houdini with a knack for escaping any puzzle they find themselves in. A husky will never be bored because they will always find their own ways to entertain themselves and not always to their owner’s amusement. These are not a breed to let a disability get in their way. Little Jaxon is a husky through and through.

Little Jaxon stole our hearts when he arrived at TLC in December of 2021 at less than 3 months old. He was rescued from a bad situation by a good Samaritan who then brought him to the vet. There they determined that there was no hope of sight in either of his eyes, but that didn’t bother Little Jaxon. He grew into a sweet, loving, and affectionate dog who could hear a mouse a mile away. His inability to see the mouse was no hindrance to him in chasing it.

After two months in his foster home, he found his furever family and is living a full, happy life.

We love being able to connect dogs to their forever homes. What we love even more is when we can help a dog navigate the uncertainty in between and help them grow, build their confidence, and prepare them for all the love that awaits.
