Welcome to April, a month that has started out just as confused as to what Spring is as March was. The flickering lights, wind, thunder, rain & lightening of last night’s storm wasn’t a surprise but the overnight hailstorm seemed like a bit of a belated April Fool’s joke to us. The dogs, for the most part, were unfazed but the humans were left scratching our heads. We hope you weren’t too badly affected by the storm.
It was another busy week of whelping for us as we now have 5 lovely mommas caring for sweet puppies that should be ready to make their debut in late April – early May (just in time to give their moms the ability to relax on Mother’s Day). We also adopted out some sweet pups including: Kari & her pup, Kamran; Magnolia’s remaining pups, Madison, Malcolm & Mavis; and Sheri (now Loki).
We have some updates to share as well:
Pearl FKA Kacie
So happy that we got our new puppy, we named her Pearl. Aside from being so cute, she is such a good little girl already! Before feeding when you tell her to sit, she does, every time. She knows where to go to the bathroom outside already, she knows how to get back into the house. She is curious, open and friendly loves everyone, loves Gemma (FKA Julie)! Yesterday they played and ran all over the place having good old fashioned dog fun. 🙂 Attached is a picture of them resting up.
Pearl went right into a crate in our living room when we brought her into the house and she claimed it, settled right in and began to enjoy a chew toy. I have a crate in my studio on the lower level too, and she is happy in both places. I only close the gate when we go to bed at night, and she is fine with that. She is pretty tuckered out by the time we all go to bed. She is already learning how to walk on a leash! She is so alert and engaged and catches on very quickly. She’s basically a genius. LOL
We all love Pearl, and she seems to be very happy here with us. Thank you so much for rescuing her mom and her sibs
I just wanted to say thank you so much for Chi Chi. She is so amazing and both Curtis and I are very happy. We promise to give her a fantastic life.
Yesterday I took her into the city to a park. She was ok when I was cuddling her and sometimes walking when nobody was around but she is still very overwhelmed. We are taking it easy. She’s comfortable in our street now though, which is great. Baby steps.
Daisy FKA Carrie
Carrie – now Daisy – is doing great! Day by day she gets more comfortable and a bit less timid. I am hoping to soon get her to some agility classes and maybe get her even more confident. We have been walking or running every day and she has discovered the bed, it is her favorite spot in the house, she thinks it is her throne. It is very cute, she is so comfortable and happy being there you can tell she knows this is her home. She is such a sweetheart, when we walk she wants to say hi to everyone. She got a bath last week and pranced around after like she wanted to show off what a pretty girl she was; yesterday we went to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and she had a little shamrock scarf on and she did the same thing showing what a pretty girl she is.
As time goes on I think she will come out of her shell more and more. Even in just the last week her and the cat have gotten a lot better, a bit of a bumpy start as she tried to go after him initially, and Tigger was very attached to Bliss. But we now walk right past each other and can even lay in the same bed.
She has also learned ‘sit’, ‘paw (shake)’, and we are working on ‘stay’, ‘come’ and ‘leave it’ all of which she is learning very quickly.
Simba FKA Leo
Leo, now Simba is settling in well. Here is picture of Simba & Malili.
Boscoe and Chooch are both doing great together I took Boscoe to the vet today everything look good… It was such a pleasure to meet all the volunteers with the organization and thank you so much for what you do for the animals . I wanted to thank you guys so much for introducing me to this awesome dog if there’s anything you guys need for the organization please let me know i’m willing to help in anyway I can thank you so much
Sammi FKA Teal
Here is a picture of us enjoying the snow. It is hard to believe that it has been a year already!
Ziva FKA Zya (mom to last Summer’s Z litter)
Ziva is doing awesome. She is the most pleasant dog ever.
Here’s a recent picture of her.
Biscuit has been such a blessing to us. Thank you for bringing us together!! Here are some pics from the last year 🙂 We LOVE Biscuit so much !!!!
Our little Hattie is growing up!
Heine FKA Yoko
We received a thank you card from TLC and wanted to follow up with some pictures of Heina! She is getting so big already and is an absolute sweetheart. She has a potbelly pig sister named Ruca. They have come a long way already since the day we brought Heina home. Ruca was not too happy at first and made sure everyone knew it. She has been an only child for 5 years and is not accustomed to someone else getting a lot of attention. Now she is much better and is being much more patient with Heina. It’s been pretty cool to watch over the last few weeks. I’m excited to see what happens over the next couple of months!
If you happen to have any recent pictures of either of her siblings (the Yo pups), we would love to see them, too! We are so curious to see how the three puppies will grow up since their breeds are somewhat a mystery.
