Mother Nature still seems to be a bit confused about the fact it’s now late December in the Philly metro area. We had some Winter this week-end but the rest of the week was warm and we hear it’s warming up again. While the weather is quite the topic of conversation, we all know that’s not what really matters right now as people are looking forward to all the wonderful things that happen this time of year, not the least of which is good, quality time with the family. Luckily for a bunch of our pups, that quality family time will be with their own furever families!
Our sweet, little ray of sunshine, Karen, decided she was ready to take the next step of moving in with a wonderful mom & dad patient enough to understand her special needs. Also settling into a great families were Asia (now Cassie), Misty (now Puka), Summer (now Penny) & Ted.
We received some nice updates via email (and a couple posted on facebook) this week:
Lewis FKA Neo
Hi all. What a wonderful organization to adopt from. We will spread the word. Neo’s name is Lewis and he’s so happy with brother Milo!
Oscar FKA Ewok
Oskar (aka Ewok) is fitting into our family wonderfully
Winston Freud FKA Freud
I am so in love with Winston Freud!!! He is settling in and had totally stolen my heart! Thank you!!
We couldn’t be happier having Tori in the family!! Thank you so much for all you do!
Charlie FKA Keith
We are so over the moon in love with this little guy. His new name is Charlie. We actually applied for him while in the Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris on our honeymoon so Charlie seemed a perfect fit. Coincidentally, my big brother’s name is Keith so he appreciated not sharing a name with our dog.
He is settling in great! He and his 2 big brothers (dog & cat) are all getting along well. He has brought a more playful side out in our 6 year old dog and it’s been so nice seeing that. The rest of our family is so in love as well, my parents love their new grandpuppy and he was the hit of Thanksgiving. We took him to the vets recently and everyone was remarking how well behaved and mellow he is for a 6 (almost 7) month old puppy. He is just a little love bug!
Only concern the vet has is he has 2 baby teeth that haven’t worked their way out yet. We are massaging his gums each night and keeping an eye on it. Aside from that, he starts obedience training on Saturday and is doing great with crate training/house breaking.
I plan on ordering him a DNA kit soon — we are so interested to see what he is mixed with. He is so beautiful, people stop us all the time to pet him and remark on his gorgeous coloring and eyes. I will attach some pictures, and once he has his Christmas pictures taken (I ordered our dogs matching bow ties, we will see how that goes!), I will send them along.
Thank you so much for our baby, he has brought so much joy and love to our lives. We couldn’t be happier! And thank you for all the amazing work you do for the dogs still in need of their furever home.
Zoe FKA Kirsten
She’s doing great, we couldn’t be happier!
Dawkins FKA Slye
I just wanted to give you an update on our pup Dawkins (formerly Slye). He is doing wonderful. We got a wisdom panel done on him and he is a Treeing Walker Coonhound and American Staffordshire Terrier mix! He and Bella love to play and lay around together. He loves going for walks and tearing up his toys. He has settled in very nicely. We are getting ready for Christmas at our house! Here are some pictures! Have a wonderful holiday!
One of our trainers, Jeri Wagner, spoke with Hope’s mom who said Hope is doing 100% great & they love her to death.
Penny FKA Cynthia
Penny’s dad sent us a new picture to let us know she wanted to say “hi!” They also swung by to donate a crate to us.
