Well, here we are in the middle of March, the clocks sprung forward, the NCAA tourney starts on the Ides of March and, of course, a very St. Patty’s Day Malvern Strolls is just around the corner. Here in TLC-land, we’re still busy whelping a bunch of puppies, doing some Spring cleaning, actually enjoying the weather while taking the fosters for walks and, of course, playing matchmaker for our adoptables.
Travis came to us after his mom died and his elderly dad was just overwhelmed with caring for all of the dogs in the family. After a bit of time & some TLC to deal with his dental issues and get him on a special diet to help control his kidney stones, he was ready to move on and find a new home of his own. Travis also came to us with a mild case of Lyme disease so he’d really like to remind everyone that ticks have already been spotted in the area and, if you don’t already have your dog on a tick preventative, you should start ASAP. You may also want to talk to your vet about testing for Lyme disease if it’s been awhile and whether or not your dog’s risk is great enough to consider vaccination.
Also celebrating gotcha day this week were: Dee Dee, Matilda, Molly, Scooter & Tee
Updates this week included Wisdom Panel results for 2 alumni, a visit, and some emails & Facebook posts:
River FKA Corrie & Luna FKA Midnight
3/6 marked 6 months since I brought River home, which blows my mind! I can’t imagine life without her, and her sister Luna is just as fabulous. They are inseparable, and love to wrestle and chase each other around the yard. They certainly make my life more interesting.
I had their DNA tests done, finally proving that River is in fact a Labrador Retriever/Chihuahua mix. She also has some Chinese Crested in her, which I thought was an interesting mix. Luna was, as we thought, a chihuahua/dachshund mix, and she also has some min-pin in her.
They have both been such great additions to my life, and I can’t thank you enough for them. I’ve attached a few pictures for you, they certainly are cute!”
Missy FKA Oreo
A year ago today I adopted Missy (FKA Oreo) She has been an energetic, fun and delightful little buddy
Wally is settling in and definitely seems to be feeling at home. He’s doing great with the crate, and we have started the puppy training classes. Wally is very well behaved there but more interested in playing with the other dogs than the actual training. I’ve attached a picture from our walk this afternoon. You’ll see he has gotten a little taller and has gained some weight (per vet orders). All is well here and hope you are doing well too. Wally sends his love!
Rani is doing great. We are having so much fun with her. She has such a sweet temperament and is a joy to be with. She is extremely smart is friendly to all she encounters. She has the opportunity to play with other dogs on a regular basis. She travels really well and often comes to work with me.
She is up to date with all vet visits and us extremely healthy. The only concern was last year when stung twice in the same week. On the second encounter she went into shock, but revived before we got her to the vet. We now carry syringes in case she gets stung again.
Our vet said that owners of her brothers and sisters may want to be aware as we get into bee season.
We are so happy to have her with us and look forward to seeing her everyday.
As you can see Lexi is a very relaxed pup! She follows me everywhere and barks at all the big dogs she sees. She loves to steal toys from our other dog. She is doing great!
Sophie FKA Sophia
Hello , it’s been 2 years since we adopted Sophie from you the one picture up on top row is the picture you had on your site when we were looking for a dog. Sophie has been a delight and is a very good dog we love her to death. My sister treats her like her own child. We are so blessed and Sophie lives like a queen Thanks We thought you would like an update for your site
Miles FKA Braxton
He’s doing great! Just shy of 60 lbs and healthy. He has cat and bunny buddies and of course the kids. We love him. Thanks again!
Max FKA Hansel
He has brought so much joy into our lives. We are so happy to have him.
Lily Brie FKA Tammy
Lily Brie formerly Tammy is doing really well! She’s made great friends with the dog next door another yellow lab and they enjoy the playtime and socialization. She is such a love and is so good too everyone in our family; we feel lucky to have her!
At one point we were afraid she may have hereditary myopathy like her Litter Mate but, because it would take her a little bit to get up (her hind quarters) and twice or three times her legs slipped out but she’s had a lot of energy and still likes to be very active so nothing seems to be affecting her now. We’ve talked to the vet (but did not have her tested for that) but all seems to be okay luckily!
Lily Brie is used to her invisible fence and doesn’t cross even when other dogs walk by. Good girl! She knows sit, down, wait and come. Just love her so much!
Hailey FKA Fillis
She is doing great! She is so lovable and playful. She is getting better with commands like sit, lay down, stay and come. We are working on house training her with pee bells on the door and it seems to be working!! We go for multiple walks during the day in the neighborhood where she loves to sniff around. She also loves playing with the chocolate lab puppy next to us, they are best friends. Hailey is an amazing addition to our family! We love her so much!
Lola is the sweetest little girl! We just love her! And Comet seems to have found a best friend! They play so well together and are even starting to cuddle a little during down times! She has brought a breath of fresh air to our home and she’s fitting right in! We just love her!
Hazel FKA Sapphire
This is Hazel (formerly Sapphire of the Gem puppies). Thanks to Laurie and TLC for letting this little girl come into our lives. She truly is a Gem. If anyone has pics of her brothers (Onyx, Mica, and Jasper and her mom (Amber) I would love to see pics of them too!
Hunter FKA Heath
We actually changed his name to Hunter seeing how he didn’t respond to Heath at all. So far he is doing really well. He seems to be adjusting quickly. He likes laying along side you on the couch and spooning like a person. We are very happy with him and are excited for our future together. Thank you so much for following up with us!
We were also surprised by a nice visit from TLC alumni Archer FKA Jay & Mason FKA Rascal, and their musically inclined big brother, Zane during today’s meet & greet
We hope that you’re all doing well and we hope to see those of you who are local to us at next Saturday’s Pins For Pups . Register now to reserve your lane(s) – advanced registration ends Friday, March 18th at noon!
