It was a nice, quiet week-end in TLC land. We enjoyed the weather & had some fun at Limerick Community Day on Saturday and had a bunch of adoptions. Last week, we were happy to announce that long timer Apollo (now Fred) was adopted as part of the Clear The Shelters event. Prior to his adoption, he hadn’t seen his partner in crime Kentucky since they came to us but they managed to get some playtime in before he went home with his family. Kentucky, herself, was quite popular that day with people expressing an interest in her. At it happens, sometimes, with longer term fosters, her foster mom & dad (and TLC alumnus, Ivey) were hit with the reality that she had truly become a member of the family. Most of the pictures we would share of Kentucky on Twitter & Instagram were pictures of her and Ivey, with whom she’d grown very close so we are all very happy that these sweet little girls will continue to send us pictures of their adventures together.
Kentucky is a very lucky girl but she is not the only one celebrating becoming a permanent member of a family this week. Bud, Colton, Emmet (now Apollo), Ginger, Jantz, Roxy (now Belle), Whitney (family is thinking about Annabelle as a name), Yara (now Kessie) and Yola (probably Daisy) also found their way into wonderful new homes this week.
We also received some followups:
We adopted Drake last November as a puppy. We are excited to celebrate his 1st birthday today with a new bone and extra treats! He’s been the perfect fit for our family and is as happy playing outside as he is cuddling on the couch.
Joey FKA Ulysses
One of the pics is “with his latest girlfriend from the doggie park.” His dad noted that “he is such a wonderful buddy.” Each time we corresponded via email, his dad also asked how Joey’s brother, Urv ,was doing so he was thrilled to hear that Urv recently found his own forever home
Rayne FKA Sassy
Thought you’d like an update on Rayne (formerly Sassy). She is doing excellent. She is getting ready for her good canine citizenship test, which we all know she will pass with flying colors.
She loves to work as a service dog! In fact, sometimes she gets annoyed when we’re shopping and I make her stay in one spot for too long.
We recently moved to a bigger house with our own yard for her to play in near York. Last month we took her on vacation with us to the outer banks where she played in the ocean. She loved it! I’ve attached some pictures. Thank you again for giving us our baby!
note: Rayne was adopted to be trained as a service dog by Train a Dog Save a Warrior
Skyler FKA Skylar
Skyler is awesome, of course!! She is doing great! The heat has been a bummer for walks, but she loves sunning herself out in the yard while we hang with her J She is cuddly as ever! She is the best dog ever! We are so lucky she adopted us!
Paisley FKA Rache
Everyone loves her. She is awesome, it is like she has been there her whole life. Gets along great with the resident Golden retriever. Has done well at the barn with the horses too. She plays appropriately and is housebroken
