Lonnie, now Brodie

Lonnie, now Brodie

We wrap up May with some flowers, lots of pollen, a couple adoptions & loads of alumni updates.  This was a lighter week for us having taken a bit of a break for the Memorial Day week-end.  While yesterday morning started out looking & feeling like it might be a rainy day, the weather cleared up nicely for The Spayed Club‘s  Phoenixville Pet Fair & Jog/Run where we got a chance to catch up with TLC alumni Bridget, who is happy as a lark, and Teddy (FKA Theo) who is now a super-sized version of the goofball puppy he was last July!  We’ve included some pictures in the gallery below.

This week Lonnie was adopted & changed his name to Brodie.  His new family has big plans to train him to be a therapy dog and we’re sure he’ll be great at it.

Sindy was also adopted this week and has changed her name to Circuit.

We received a boatload of messages with updates this week as well:

We adopted Leo in December 2013. After months ‘on the road,’ Leo took a while to trust us and call us family. But his sweetness was undeniable and so we waited patiently for us to all adjust to our new family dynamic. Fast forward a year and a half (and another new addition) and we couldn’t be happier. Leo is a wonderful addition and I am so thankful he came into our lives. Thanks TLC!

It’s almost six weeks since we brought Violet home and I just wanted to let you know we absolutely love her.  My boys were wanting the puppy you had at your home when we came to meet her and I am so glad I stuck to my gut and we brought her home.  She is such a special dog and is so good with my kids.  Everyone that meets her jokes about taking her home.  Thank you for taking the time and being patient with us that day.  We are so thankful to have her.

Delia

We have been so happy with the addition of Delia to our family. She’s wonderful with our kids and our other dog Zeke. I have attached some pictures to the email and when I get more time I will send more. We love that we were able to give her a loving forever home.

Lucy FKA Bella

Just wanted to drop a line to let you know how Lucy (AKA Bella) is doing.  At the one week anniversary of our adoption, Lucy is doing so well!   She’s had only three accidents in the house and is comfortable in her crate and sleeping well in her dog bed.  She’s eating well and having a wonderful time chasing the kids around the yard.  She seems less nervous and is slowly getting used to being safe and having lots of love.  She is the sweetest, calmest, most patient little girl and we all love her so much.  She even got a haircut this week and was an angel for the groomer!  Thank you so much for helping us find our little sweetheart!

Akula FKA Stella

Akula’s doing great! She has developed a little separation anxiety, but our trainer helped us work out a plan that seems to  be working. In addition, she’s graduated from both puppy and beginning training, and is currently in a “paws around princeton” cycle, learning to walk nicely through crowds, leave other dogs alone while on leash, and even go into dog-friendly stores and “shop”. She regularly attends a puppy social event, and is the dog that they use to both draw shy dogs out to play and to teach too-boisterous dogs to play nicely. We were excited to hear that her trainer thinks she is shaping up to be a potential therapy dog, and are planning to pursue that possibility. Next up is her canine good citizen certificate/intermediate training, once she’s a bit older.

Anyway, thank you for a wonderful dog and adoption experience. I regularly recommend TLC to anyone looking to adopt a rescue! I’m including 3 pictures- the last one was right after she removed her sweater and immediately before we took it away.

She’s a great dog, smart with a terrific personality. Last weekend my family along with their dogs were up at our lake house. The dogs had a great time playing and swimming (Brooklyn’s big web paws came in handy).

Bear is doing fantastic! We also call him King of the Castle, because that’s what he is. Very loving, and cuddly, but definitely likes to run around and be crazy. I don’t know if you will say we are spoiling him, but he has about 50 toys already, and gets about 10 belly rubs a day; to say we are in love is an understatement. We will definitely keep in touch, and I will attach a pic of him showing you his ‘king of the castle’ lifestyle. Thank you for everything.

Her name is Roxy now and she is doing well.  She will be 1 year old in June!  We took her through basic training at Pet Smart and she did very well.  Roxy is very much a part of our family now and would not want to do life without her.  Thanks for rescuing dogs and giving them a second chance at life!

She is awesome!!  We love her so much and are so glad we got her from you guys.  She is so much fun, so cuddly and just an all around great dog. I attached a picture of her snuggling with me.

Treats FKA Mickey

Treats FKA Mickey (right)

He is doing great.  He’s HUGE.  And bad.  He chews everything if you leave him unattended for even 2 or 3 minutes.  We were not prepared for that but we’re working through it.   And by everything, we mean everything.  Food, cups, trash, rugs, Nathan’s toys, pillows, bookbags, shoes shoes and more shoes.   He does also chew his bones and toys.

The two dogs are getting along pretty well.  Our son LOVES Treats.  It would be better if Treats would stop walking on Nathan when he’s on the floor. LOL  It’s like he doesn’t even look to see if he is walking on something.

Here are some more great pics:
