Another week-end down and the month almost over, save the best day in October: Halloween, which is just a few hours away. Tonight we start out the next to last day of National Adopt A Dog Month with a very special happy tail. Daisy came to us as the only survivor when someone poisoned her mom & litter mates. Despite the very rough start in life, this sweet pup stole the hearts of everyone she met while recovering to the point we never had to post her as available because one of our adoption counselors learned about her and said she needed to stay in the family and, as soon as she was ready, she was adopted and renamed Hazel Grace.
Also celebrating a gotcha day this week were Lovey, Marley & Sanders!
We received a few updates this week as well:
Axle FKA Adam
Axle FKA Adam has lead a charmed life since he was adopted:
Axle graduated from obedience school with high honors, had his first birthday, enjoyed the trails with his mother and loves sleeping in his new bed.
Tucker FKA Teegan
Tucker (aka Teegan) was just in for a bath and he weighed 54.8lbs. This boy is growing by leaps and bounds. He continues to be playful – sometimes a bit hesitant or timid. The majority time he is playful, loving, and learning quickly. He hair is exceptionally soft and long and curly. He is very loving and really enjoys playing with his little 4 legged brother. (our 7yr. old Maltese – Charlie) He is a special member of our family. We have romper room multiple times a day
Ava Rose FKA Tallulah
Ava Rose (aka Tallulah) is doing great as well! Her coat is just as you said Tucker’s is. She’s so loving and gentle with other dogs in my neighborhood, my uncle’s cat (that we see once in awhile), and my 2 year old goddaughter (Ava just adores her!). She’s so quick to learn things as well. She’s so playful and only timid when the garbage man comes (lol). I’ve been weighing her on a weekly basis and it seems like she gains about a pound a week – she’s up to 30 now. She’s my petite little girl. My vet had said she’ll probably settle in between 45-50, but that it was hard to judge not knowing much of her parents.
Bianca FKA Oakley
Just thought you all might want to see how Bianca (Oakley) is doing. She’s been a great pup and is doing very well. She’s over 20lbs already and still growing. Hope you’re all well.
Lila FKA Paula
Just wanted to let you know that Lila (Paula) is settling nicely and part of the family.
We all love her so much!
We also received a graduation picture of TLC alumni Lila & Lily (FKA Autumn) who graduated from our own Jeri Wagner‘s training class this week
We hope that everyone has a safe & happy Halloween! Remember the holiday can be a bit much for your pets and they can, easily, slip out of an open door in all of the chaos of the night. Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with tags, and keep them away from doorways. For more Halloween tips to keep your pets safe, check out last week’s blog post
