We know a lot of you were wondering what the results of the 2016 Wags For Warriors campaign was and we’re pleased to announce that Fund for Veterans, a program of Mission First Housing Group will be receiving the pay it forward matching donation to support the veterans who will be living in The Whitehall in Spring City, PA.
Thanks to you, we raised $5530 and, even though the cap on the matching pay it forward donation was set at $3000, our benefactor has decided donation to Mission First will match the amount raised in full. Since the benefactor’s employer matches employee donations, that means we were able to raise a total of $11,060 for Mission First’s Fund for Veterans.

TLC is also a big fan of the other two organizations that were in the running this year, Alpha Bravo Canine & Veterans Multi-Service Center, because they are wonderful organizations that also do extraordinary work supporting our local veterans. They will also be receiving donations in honor of Wags For Warriors. We hope you will keep all three of these amazing charities in mind when you are considering making donations or volunteering!
A TLC supporter has made a very generous offer to create a special pay it forward donation challenge for the month of December. As part of this campaign, all donations made to To Love a Canine Rescue, Inc. from November 29th through December 31st will be matched 100% (up to $3,000). The twist in this challenge is that we also get to choose a worthy non-profit organization that will receive a “pay it forward” donation that equals the amount donated to us!
Since we’ve had the great pleasure of some of our dogs being adopted & trained to be service dogs for veterans, we’ve decided that the pay it forward donation should go a great, local, veteran’s charity so we’re not only asking you to donate, we’re asking you to vote to help us decide which veteran’s organization will be the lucky recipient of the pay it forward match.
Last year, we ended up raising over $4,000 that our benefactor matched in full with a donation to the winning organization, she also made donations to the two other organizations equal to the amount of donations made by people who voted for them. We were also excited to find out that all of the pay it forward donations were also eligible for a match from our benefactor’s employer which enabled us to raise over $8,500 for these wonderful veteran’s charities.
This year the veteran organizations in the running for the pay it forward match are:
Alpha Bravo Canine provides trained service dogs to local U.S military veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and other combat related disabilities.
Mission First develops and manages affordable, safe and sustainable homes for people in need, with a focus on vulnerable/at-risk populations. This is the wonderful organization that is developing The Whitehall Veteran’s housing in Spring City, PA and will be providing them with support services & other on-site programs. They also have a special fund for veterans to help pay for security deposits and rental assistance to veterans in need.
Veteran’s Multi-Service Center is the only non-profit agency in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas that provides a comprehensive resource center available to all veterans in need.
There are two ways to vote, you can cast a vote at action sprout and you can vote when you donate (the organization you select will receive 1 vote for each dollar you donate)!

Each dollar you donate as part of this challenge will have at least triple the impact (twice the impact for TLC + the bonus pay it forward donation to a deserving local veteran’s organization). Since TLC is a 501(c)(3) designated charity, your donation may be eligible for a match from your employer as well. What a great way to celebrate the holidays!

The bad weather we had on October 22nd may have dampened attendance at our first Putting For Pets event a little more than we would have liked, but we did have a nice crowd whose spirits were not dampened in the least. We’d like to thank the Chester County Pet Food Pantry for partnering with us, all of our sponsors & vendors, and all of you who came out and had a blast with us. Most of all, we’d like the thank the incredible owners & staff at Waltz Golf Farm! If you’ve ever been there, you know how great the folks at Waltz’s are so we’re sure it doesn’t surprise you to hear that they are amazingly supportive of their charity partners, incredibly generous and truly a company that makes a positive difference in our community. If you’ve never been there, we highly encourage you take visit and play a couple of rounds while the weather is still nice, as well as consider it a go to place for family fun.
We have to admit that the biggest excitement of the day was 7-year-old Leo taking home the grand prize in our Par-3 tournament! Leo won a foursome at Turtle Creek & an assortment of golf supplies generously donated by the Waltz family.
We actually had a tie between David Scherzinger &
Andrew Schwarz for 2nd Place, and Josh Frantz came in third.
The grand prize winner of the Mini Golf tournament was Sara Sieteski. Sara won 5 passes to play the Castle course at Waltz Golf Farm, 5 passes for glow bowling generously donated by Limerick Bowl & a $25 Visa gift card. Steve Aaronson came in 2nd and Bryce Long came in 3rd.
