August 15, 2015 is “Clear the Shelters” Day, an initiative by NBC-owned stations to help get cats and dogs waiting for new homes successfully adopted. NBC10 and Telemundo62 are partnering with dozens of shelters and rescue organizations throughout the region to help find these animals’ permanent loving homes. To Love a Canine Rescue, Inc. (TLC) is proud to be the participating rescue organization for Chester County.
TLC Rescue will be one of nearly 30 area rescues and shelters that will be hosting a “Clear the Shelters” event, and will serve as the Chester County location at their adoption and training center at 249 Planebrook Road in Frazer from 10am – 4pm.
TLC Rescue has agreed to waive the spay/neuter fee that day in hopes of attracting even more people interested in rescuing a furry friend. Other adoption/shelter fees will apply. Anyone interested in adopting a spayed or neutered dog from TLC must complete an adoption application, found at www.tlcrescuepa.com/adopt, and submit it to the rescue by August 10th. Only pre-approved applicants will be able to adopt a dog during the event on August 15th. If you do find your forever furry friend on our website and wish to adopt him or her, expect to proceed forward as soon as your application has been approved. For the health and well being of the dogs, we do not hold or delay adoptions, once a family has been approved.
“We are thrilled that NBC 10 asked us to be the Chester County adoption location for the #cleartheshelters event and that they understand the importance of finding loving homes for rescue and shelter animals,” says Tracy Long, Executive Director of TLC. “We hope this will be a record breaking day of adoptions for us and other organizations across the area.”
“When you adopt an animal from a shelter, you save a life,” said Ric Harris, president and general manager of NBC10 and Telemundo62. “Many people don’t realize that there are so many loving and adoptable animals in shelters and rescue groups throughout our region. NBC10 and Telemundo62 are proud take part in this national effort to find loving homes for pets, while also shedding light on the importance of shelter adoption.” The ultimate goal of the event is to help as many animals as possible find their perfect match!
